Support

Need help planning a smash session, group booking or event at SmashDown? Our support hub covers the practical details clients ask about most, from safety gear and age limits to event coordination.

Booking Help For Sessions And Group Events

Whether you are booking for one person or a full crew, the simplest way to get started is through the enquiry form on our contact page. From there our team can help with the right session type, date planning and the venue location that suits your group best, including Woodstock, Observatory, Salt River and nearby areas in Cape Town.

We support individual visits, team building, private celebrations and larger event bookings. If your group is spread across Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Somerset West or Bellville, we can talk through the best option for travel, timing and on-site coordination. For busier dates it helps to enquire early so we can plan properly and keep the experience orderly.

  • Team events and staff socials

What To Wear And Bring On The Day

For safety and comfort, wear closed shoes and clothing you do not mind getting dusty or scuffed. We provide the protective gear needed for the session, including a helmet, face shield, gloves and overalls, then our team gives a clear briefing before anyone starts. Please arrive ready to follow instructions and keep valuables to a minimum.

If you are coming from work, a school event or a team function in the city it is a good idea to bring water and a spare top. In Cape Town coastal humidity can make things feel warmer than expected, while load-shedding can affect travel times and building access around the city, so allow a little extra time when planning your visit.

  • Closed shoes only
  • Protective gear supplied on site
  • Briefing before the session starts
  • Arrive with enough time for check-in

Minimum Ages And Safety Rules

SmashDown is set up for controlled breaking sessions with safety as the first priority. Minimum age requirements apply, and younger participants may need a parent or guardian present depending on the booking type and group setup. Our team will confirm the age rules when you enquire, so there is no confusion on the day.

Every session begins with a safety briefing and clear ground rules. Participants are guided on how to use the space, how to handle the protective equipment and what to avoid once the session begins. If someone is not dressed safely or is not ready to follow instructions, they may not be allowed to participate until the issue is sorted out.

  • Age rules apply to all bookings
  • Briefings are part of every session
  • Unsafe clothing or footwear is not allowed
  • Staff guidance must be followed throughout

Planning Support For Events And Mobile Bookings

For birthdays, hen and stag events, sports club outings, launch events, content shoots and staff socials, our support team helps with the practical side of the booking. That includes venue choice, group size, timing and any special notes for the event coordinator. We also assist with mobile events where a client needs SmashDown support at a chosen location.

Woodstock is our base, but we support events across South Africa and regularly work with groups coming from Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Somerset West and Bellville. If your venue has access rules, parking limits or body corporate requirements, mention those early so we can plan properly and keep things running smoothly on the day.

Venue Access, Parking And Local Details

Our Woodstock base is convenient for clients coming from the city bowl, the Atlantic Seaboard and surrounding suburbs. If you are travelling from out of town, we suggest checking traffic before leaving and allowing time for parking and check-in. Some areas around Cape Town can be busy during peak hours and municipal rules may affect loading or stopping points near the venue.

If you are planning a group visit, let us know if anyone in the party has mobility concerns or if the booking needs extra arrival instructions. This helps our team prepare the right support on site, especially for corporate groups and larger family bookings where people may arrive at different times.

How To Reach The Support Team

The fastest way to get help is to send an enquiry through the contact page. Once we receive your details, the right person from our team will follow up, whether the query is about a booking, event coordination or venue support. Our leadership and operations team includes Luvuyo Mthembu, Anika van Wyk, Sibusiso Dlamini, Megan Pillay, Bradley Jacobs and Zanele Khumalo, so enquiries are handled by people who know the daily workings of the venue.

If you are unsure which service suits your group, tell us the occasion, your location and the number of people involved. We will help you work out the best fit without guesswork.

  • Use the contact page enquiry form
  • Share your event type and preferred area
  • Include any access, timing or age questions
  • We will reply with the next step
